CULTURAL INSPIRATION: This white kangaroo is a “rock painting” done in a more recent polychrome “X-ray” style. It comes from the Yuwunggayai Shelter in Deaf Adder Creek, which is located in Kakadu National Park. Kakadu National Park can be found in the Northern Territory of Australia, near Darwin. Kakadu National Park is in Arnhem Land, which is an Aboriginal Reserve and a nationally protected area. Two female figures and fish surround the White kangaroo. Behind the white kangaroo, much less distinct, is another kangaroo. Much of the X-ray art in this area depicts animals such as kangaroos, fish and turtles.
