CULTURAL INSPIRATION: The two serpents are the wives of “Ungud”. This Aboriginal rock art is from the “Unambal” tribe country of the northern Kimberley area in Australia. The serpents are colored in red and yellow pigment, along with a Wandjina named “Nunind’ango” and his sons. They are shown beside figures of spirits in human form. “Ungud”is an aboriginal expression for the “Dreamtime”, a mythological time, when their spiritual ancestors inhabited the world. |
