CULTURAL INSPIRATION: Graceful anthropomorphic beings portrayed in “Mimi” style art come from the Deaf Adder Creek area at Kolondjorluk in Arnhem Land. This rock art is found at the bottom of a boulder in the front of the cliffs at Kolondjorluk, painted in a faded red color. The figures resemble “Yam-people”, but without the short protruding lines that represent roots. The term “anthropomorphic beings” characterizes something that is not human but resembles human form, such as a deity.
